Southern Fried Pickles
These delicious fried pickles are a great snack or appetizer. They can easily be paired with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients
Total Servings: 8
- 8 Dill pickle spears
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 Large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
Steps
- Pat pickles dry with paper towel; set aside.
- Combine flour, garlic powder, salt, seasoned salt, and ground black pepper in a small bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs until beaten.
- In a third bowl, add panko breadcrumbs.
- Take one pickle spear and thoroughly coat in the seasoned flour mix.
- Dip floured pickle in beaten egg wash.
- Dip pickle back into seasoned flour mix for second coat, then dip again in the egg wash.
- Roll pickle in breadcrumbs and press softly so crumbs stick.
- Repeat for all spears. Place pickles in fridge for 15 minutes to allow coating to stick.
- Heat vegetable oil in frying pan to 350.
- Place coated pickles in hot oil and fry for 2 minutes or until breading is a golden brown.
- Remove from oil and let drain on a cooling rack or on a paper towel.
- Serve while warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
